“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…”
I was going to start out my Proverbs lessons by focusing on diligence, but as I’ve been reading through this book, I’ve been struck by how the fear of the Lord is emphasized as the foundation to wisdom and knowledge. I guess it’s because God’s justice, omnipresence and righteousness is a powerful incentive to pursue right behavior.
For the next two weeks, I’m going to be trying to teach my kids more about the fear of the Lord. My goals are to show them:
- God is everywhere
- God is all-knowing
- God is just
We’ll see how it goes. I would LOVE input on this. Have ideas, suggestions, thoughts? Please pass them my way.
